REFEREES. Do not tolerate Spectator assault, abuse or disrespect !

If a spectator says anything that would be considered dissent by a player or irresponsible behavior by a coach . . .

  1. Stop the game. Assistant Referees - put up the flag to stop the game.
  2. Go talk to the coaches.
  3. ASK the coaches to address the problem.
  4. Wait till the coaches have addressed the problem.
  5. Only then restart the game.

If the spectator problem persists

  1. Stop the game. Assistant referees raise the flag.

    Assistant referees - if the center referee will not deal with the problem (give the referee two chances). LEAVE. You will get paid.

  2. TELL the coaches to deal with the problem.
  3. Wait till the coaches have dealt with the problem.
  4. Restart the game.

If the problem still persists

  1. Stop the game. Assistant referees raise your flag.
  2. Inform the coaches that the match will not continue till the spectator is out of sight and sound.
  3. If necessary, terminate the match and leave.
  4. You are asked to referee the match. You are not there to be yelled at, spit upon, disrespected. Soccer is supposed to be fun.

Your California North Referee Association wants you to know that referees do not need to tolerate dissent, abuse or assault from players, coaches or spectators. Calendar Systems Feature Update
If you use the ICS (Internet Calendar Service) of the website you should be aware of an important change. NOW match times sent to your device will be KICKOFF Time. Formerly, the time sent was start of PreMatch Time. This change was made to conform with other calendaring systems.

Tuesday April 24th, 2018

USSF Referee Registration for 2018 is required to referee affiliated matches. You will NOT be permitted to self assign if you do not have a 2018 registration. Registration can take up to 6 weeks to process.
