9) Visit Referee:FAQ.  There is an entire section "Info for Novice Referees".  Look for the YouTube video and the "How to Pensra" videos

Though there is a shortage of referees, you still have to look for matches to work. The website lists thousands of matches a year. You find matches at Referee:Inquiry.  You will want to use the Criteria to sift your search.    You can use relative dates (like "last week" and "+3 weeks" in the date range).   You can use the multiple selection mode on pulldowns to select multiple Areas or Clients that you are interested in.

10) At Referee:Inquiry enter Criteria that give you matches that you are interested in.  Click "Show" and then click on the save icon to right of "Show".   This will establish your personal Criteria and the next time you logon you will have these Criteria pre-loaded.

When you find a match at Referee:Inquiry that you want to work, try to self assign to the match. Look at the "Fails" and figure out why the system did not give you that match. Remedy those fails and try again. Still Fail? - You can manually request the match from the assignor.   The assignor will see the same fails that you see.    When trying to resolve your fails, contact the assignor ONLY if you have exhausted all the resources on the website.

The website is comprehensive - read initially overwhelming and complex.  There are lots of help options.  Referee:FAQ.   "Help" at the top right of each page.   The "How To . . ." videos.  Help bubbles after error messages.   Pop up text when the mouse hovers over an action icon or hyperlink.

Thanks and welcome to the Peninsula Soccer Referee Association !
